About Me ...

MY STORY

I am an alumni from Old Dominion University (ODU), and received my bachelor's degree in Marketing, with a minor in Accounting. Plus, I have an associate's of applied science degree in Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) Technology, that I recieved from Tidewater Community College (TCC). When I started my education at ODU I transferred from TCC as a Junior in Mechanical Engineering.

These are pictures of me at my graduation ceremony from ODU. As you can see from my stoles and honor cords, I was part of many honor societies and clubs.

The photo on the right is a close up of my graduation cap that I designed and painted. It is inspired by my favorite animated show, Avatar: The Last Airbender.

After a few classes, I realized that this was not the path that I wanted for myself. I changed my major to Accounting since I work in Finance and wanted to stay with my employer. However, that too was not for me and I started to see that I was not motivated in my classes. Finally, After speaking with coworkers and family, it was suggested that I look into Marketing. I met up with my advisor to get more information and realized that this was a better option. At that same time, I started looking into creative career options to which I can apply marketing skills to. This is when I decided to start a UX/UI Design certification, with CareerFoundry.

I have gone through a lot of changes mentally, physically, and emotionally since I have been enrolled at ODU. Nevertheless, it has been an extremely helpful journey in so many different ways.

With a passion for finance, marketing, design, and all things creative, I have both the skill set and experiences necessary to succeed in the marketing world. As an upbeat, and self-motivated learner, I envision an exciting future in this industry.

Passions

DRAWING & ILLUSTRATION

As a hobby, I enjoy sketching and drawing and I have done mostly portraits. My background is in traditional artwork, but after I went to college, I started doing digital illustrations. I am constantly coming up with artwork ideas and can get inspiration from anywhere.

advertising & graphic design

This is something that I have always adored as a creative individual. I have even worked on advertisement designs for a previous employer. Making anything look "nice and clean" is my forte. I will always be looking for ways to improve a website, app, advertisement, etc.

ARCHITECTURE & drafting

When I first started college, I really wanted to be an Architect. I even took classes in high school. However, I decided it was more of a hobby than a career choice. I still work on floor plans and designs. Currently, I am working on the plan for my dream home.

CREATIVE & BUSINESS WRITING

I really enjoy writing in all different styles, but mostly creative writing. College has made me interested in technical writing and research as well.

Writing is relaxing and therapeutic for me; to see where my mind will take me. I am in the process of writing a novel, too.

Adventures

When I am not partaking in my passions, I am doing a variety of other things. This includes traveling, cooking, longboarding, and just trying out new things. My favorite hobbies are playing video games, doing puzzles, and trying new food.
